The Wazirabad Institute of Cardiology's ambulances and other vehicles were taken or given to other government agencies.
Two years ago, Rescue 1122 received two ambulances while one vanished and another was taken by the Lahore Secretariat. As a result, it was difficult to transfer patients to Gujranwala in a timely manner because WIC closed at 2 o'clock.
Additionally, four years ago, the medical superintendent spent Rs 2 million on a car for the benefit of the medical personnel, including doctors.
The Lahore Secretariat later gave the order to move the car to Lahore when the transfer of the medical superintendent was being discussed. No one is willing to take responsibility for the car, nor does the documentation indicate where it is, and it was lost in the Secretariat.
Because the WIC doesn't have an ambulance service, moving heart patients to Gujranwala has become quite challenging.
Between 8am and 2pm, the WIC operates in part. After that, the Outpatient Department closes, and the patients depart from the facility. Sometimes the cardiac patients at WIC need to be moved quickly to Gujranwala, but this wasn't possible because there were no ambulance facilities.
Representatives from all walks of life urged the authorities to provide ambulances for WIC in order to guarantee the prompt shifting of cardiac patients. For their convenience, they also demanded that transportation be provided to the medical professionals who provide emergency care and doctors.
